Régimen aduanero

Australia permite la entrada de bienes usados libre de impuestos (GST) y aranceles, siempre que hayan sido propiedad del titular durante al menos 12 meses. Sin embargo, el aspecto más crítico es la bioseguridad: el Departamento de Agricultura (DAFF) inspecciona casi todas las mudanzas para evitar la entrada de plagas. Artículos que hayan estado en contacto con tierra (herramientas de jardín, bicicletas, calzado de montaña) deben estar escrupulosamente limpios. Los artículos de madera, mimbre o materiales orgánicos son sometidos a revisión rigurosa. Además, la importación de vehículos debe cumplir con los estándares locales y requiere una autorización previa (VIA).
